Our Mission

Thrive to Survive is dedicated to providing emotional, physical and financial support to adults living in Ontario, Seneca, Wayne, Schuyler, and Yates Counties diagnosed and being treated for cancer. Through this support, Thrive to Survive hopes to relieve unnecessary stress on the patient allowing them to focus on their recovery and their families. The ultimate goal of Thrive to Survive is to be able to support adults while giving the hope to Thrive to Survive.

Why We Created TTS

Who hasn't been touched by cancer? The World Health Organization announced that cancer is the second major cause of death worldwide. Right now there are approximately 15.5 million people living with a history of cancer in the United States, and that number is only expected to climb. As each of us has become all too familiar with cancer, treatments, side effects, surgery, life changes, we have discovered the inadequacies of available services to adults with cancer. The rising cost of insurance, co-payments, the availability of treatment centers and good doctors add to the stress an adult with cancer experiences. Thrive to Survive hopes to alleviate some of the stress.

Dreams

Thrive to Survive has so many hopes and dreams for adults with cancer. If dreams could come true, Thrive to Survive would dream of a world in which no person ever had to hear the words, "you have cancer." One dream that can be realized is for a person with cancer to hear, "We can do that for you, just tell us what you need."

Thrive to Survive is here to provide assistance in the form of:

1. Provide financial grants to adults undergoing treatment.

2. Provide free monthly support groups for survivors, family and caregivers.

3. Provide Cancer Survivor Wellness Program in coordination with the Geneva Family YMCA.

4. Provide pick-me-up care packages.

5. Provide year round giving programs.

6. Helping adults with cancer and caregivers understand what resources are available through research assistance.
